The 5MR450-NDY-4 from PRV Audio is built from the ground up to be a class-leading 5″ midrange for pro audio high output car audio and high fidelity home audio applications. Its high-powered neodymium radial slugs immerse the voice coil in a strong magnetic field providing extreme control and high senstivity. Not only does the unique motor design keep the mounting depth at less than 3″ great for car doors it also reduces distortion. Additionally the pole piece includes a copper copper sleeve which reduces inductance to improve high frequency response. With a usable extended frequency response from 160 to 16000 Hz this midwoofer also works great as a high output full range satellite speaker. A bumped backplate vented pole piece vented magnet assembly Kapton former open cast-aluminum frame and treated-cloth surround allow for high power handling while protecting this driver from extreme transient power peaks.
