Unlike traditional “puck” type transducer only the base piece filled with liquid is bonded to the hull and the separate transducer then attaches to the base with a twist lock. There is no adhesive layer under the transducer face to absorb sound energy. The sound waves travel more efficiently though the liquid giving amazing performance.
